Fortune Park Hotels to increase room inventory to 2,550 by May 2009

In a bid to spread its foot print in India, Fortune Park Hotels Ltd., an ITC Ltd. subsidiary, is aggressively promoting and investing in Fortune Park Hotels. Fortune Park Hotels will open five hotels under its own different brands by May 2009; Fortune Inn Grazia in Noida with 42 rooms, Fortune Resort Grace in Mussoorie with 94 rooms, Fortune Select Metropolitan in Jaipur with 100 rooms, Fortune Park Bengaluru with 130 rooms and Fortune Inn Valley View in Manipal. The properties will be managed by Fortune Park Hotels Ltd.

Presently, the company has 26 operational hotels in 24 cities with total 2,039 rooms. These five hotels will increase room inventory to 2,550. According to Suresh Kumar, President, Fortune Park Hotels Ltd., “Fortune Park Hotels has many more hotel projects in the pipeline under different development stages.” Speaking on whether the group has plans to take its Fortune brand to the international market, Kumar stated, “Presently, we have no such plans. We want to be strong in the Indian market and understand the Indian clientele needs to cater to them.”

The group has 11 different brands under Fortune Park Hotels and will launch another brand called Fortune Wellness. “Fortune Park Hotels has tied up with Jupiter Hospital in Thane and will open the Fortune Park Jupiter & Wellness Centre by year-end. The hotel will have around 80-100 rooms. It will offer convenience and comfort to patients and their relatives. The hotel will be owned by Jupiter Hospital and managed by Fortune Park Hotels,” said Pawan Verma, Senior Executive Vice President - Hotels Division, ITC Ltd.
