ITFT hosts Aviation Jobs and Career Fest in Chandigarh

Chandigarh-based Institute of Technology and Future Management Trends (ITFT), earlier this week, organised a one day Aviation Jobs and Career Fest inviting participation from more than 800 graduates and 10 +2 students from North India. A number of domestic and international airlines including Lufthansa Airlines, Kuwait Airways, Emirates Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Jet Airways, Royal Jordanian Airways, Continental Airways, Ethiopian Airways, Sri Lankan Airways, Swiss International Airlines, Aero Mexico and also few travel agencies put up their stalls to take interviews of participating candidates and also offer on-the-spot placements.

Speaking at a seminar ‘Untapped potential of aviation business opportunities in North India,’ Pran S Dasan, Manager - Sales and Marketing (passenger), Indian Subcontinent, Kuwait Airways said, “North India with its educated and vibrant workforce, natural resources, places of pilgrimage, rich cultural heritage and with more than eight million NRIs can be developed into an integrated aviation hub which will give a fillip to its tourism industry and other economic activities. The aviation sector is in dire need of skilled and trained manpower especially pilots. Aviation institutes should provide students with basic knowledge of the aviation industry.”

A book by ITFT called ‘Career in airlines’ was also released at the occasion by Subhash Goyal, ex-President, Indian Association of Tour Operators, (IATO) and Chairman, Stic Travel Group and Kumar Baweja, Director, TSI-Travel Services International Pvt. Ltd. Elaborating on the contents of the book Dr Gulshan Sharma, Executive Director, ITFT said “The book provides complete familiarisation with the airline industry and how to prepare for job interviews, career opportunities in various segments of the aviation industry such as ground services, cabin crew, city office staff, commercial pilots etc. The book presents the global, Asian and Indian aviation scenario and also provides useful tips on résumé writing and grooming. It is not only a useful guide for those who wish to make a career in the aviation industry but also for those running professional aviation training institutes.”
