Commando Caterers to launch ‘The Sky Party’ concept in Chandigarh

Chandigarh-based Commando Caterers Private Limited (CCPL), a leading caterer in northern region, will introduce ‘The Sky Party’ concept to host dinners, events and ceremonies in Chandigarh by end of October 2008. For this first of its kind concept, the company has signed an exclusive agreement with Dinner in the Sky, Belgium (Europe) for sole rights within India. The company will give franchises to other organisations throughout India, depending on the size of city.

Speaking with Hospitality Biz, Kawaljit Singh Walia, Managing Director, Commando Caterers Private Limited (CCPL), Chandigarh said that this new concept of ‘The Party in the Sky’ (The Sky Party) will be an exclusive, extraordinary and sensational experience for Indians. This experience (with a culinary touch) will allow people to dine up to 50 metres (164 feet) in the air. “The concept will cater to 22 guests on a table accompanied by crew members, two Chefs, two air hostesses, one cameraman and one security man. All types of cuisines will be served, depending upon the customer’s choice,” confirms Walia. The Sky Party can be organised anywhere; this is one of the concept’s most exciting features. With regards to safety, the table is built according to German TUV certification norms.

Walia stated that The Sky Party can be assisted by a second platform that offers additional possibilities such as a pianist, band, any original presentation for entertainment or a product launch. This concept will target the corporate sectors for product launch and presentation ceremonies in the sky, which will also get on-air exposure. “Straightaway, we are opting for franchisees in metro cities. As of now, we have collected data on 2600 applicants for franchisees from all over India. We have short listed a few of them, as per city size,” added Walia.
