Central Railway to introduce three new trains from Amravati

According to a Press Trust of India (PTI) report, Central Railway has announced that it will introduce three new trains from Amravati railway station after it receives clearance from the Railway Board. Once operational, the Amravati-Mumbai train will run twice a week and its frequency will be increased according to the response it receives. Similarly, Amravati-Nagpur train will run five days a week from Monday to Friday, departing Amravati in the mornings and from Nagpur in the evenings.

"The Railway Board will take a final decision about periodicity and timings of the Amravati-Mumbai Express, Amravati-Surat passenger and Amravati-Nagpur Inter-city Express trains," said Soumya Raghavan, General Manager, Central Railway, in a meeting held at Amravati after inspecting Amravati, Badnera and New Amravati railway stations. She added that though the proposed new trains from Amravati will start rolling out soon, it will take more than a year for the complete development of Amravati railway station. The meeting was attended by Guardian Minister Dr Sunil Deshmukh, Dr Devisingh Shekhavat, spouse of President Pratibha Patil and B T Deshmukh, Minister of Legislative Council.
