Janpath Hotel to open Italian Restaurant this month

ITDC-owned Janpath Hotel will add an Italian restaurant by the end of this month. The hotel has tied up with renowned designer Rohit Bal’s Veda to run the Italian restaurant in the hotel.Currently, the hotel has a restaurant by the name Mismo offering contemporary Mexican, Mediterranean and American cuisine.

ITDC has also initiated the re-tendering process for a destination spa at Hotel Janpath recently. The corporation’s earlier attempt to bring in investors to run the destination spa failed to find serious contenders. Therefore, the corporation has re-tendered the same recently, according to sources. “We hope to start the destination spa in 2009-‘10 now. It’s a venture that needs huge investment, that’s why we are looking at involving private investors with expertise in the field,” the official said. The hotel has earmarked about 40 rooms to be developed into destination spa and health club.

When asked about the negative impact of the recent survey report by TripAdvisor, the official said that they took it seriously and everything would be done to improve the quality of the products and services.
