IAAI opens a new chapter for Malabar region in Kerala

MIATA Agents Association of India (IAAI) recently opened a new chapter in the Malabar region of Kerala and formed a new committee for the region. As per IAAI information, Samuel Thomas from Riya Tours and Travels was elected as Chairman – Malabar Region; Vidhyadharan from Benzy Tours and Travel elected as Secretary; C Usman from Santhosh Air Travels as Vice President; P. Unnikrishnan from ITL Tours appointed as Joint Secretary and CKK Abdulla from Comfort Travels elected as Treasurer.

IAAI selected its new office bearers for the Malabar chapter at a function organised at Malabar Palace Hotel in Calicut. Biji Eapen, President, IAAI addressed the gathering and updated them about the current scenario of the zero commission issue. Girish Kumar, Kerala State Vice President, IAAI presided the function thereafter. About 37 IATA agents from Malabar region attended the function. According to the press release, the participants at the function unanimously passed a resolution that they were ready to flight against the 14 foreign ‘Zero’ airlines and announced their willingness to surrender capping on Singapore Airlines (SQ) and Silk Air (MI) any time as and when the Associations joint council demands for the same.
