Etihad Airways offers the ‘fly higher’ offer to Indian travellers

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates is offering customers in India the chance to fly in Business Class for the price of an Economy fare, or in First Class for the price of a Business Class fare, as part of a massive promotion to highlight the airline's award-winning premium services on the ground and in the sky. The promotion means that customers can travel to Geneva, Frankfurt London and Paris for Rs 39,990 in Pearl Business Class and Rs 84,990 in Diamond First Class. Brussels for Rs 41,990 in Pearl Business Class and Rs 84,990 in Diamond First Class, as well as New York for Rs 74,990 in Pearl Business Class and Rs 157,990 in Diamond First Class from Mumbai. The 'fly higher' offer is available to travellers who book tickets before February 28, 2009. All outbound travel must be completed by the March 31, 2009 and return journey completed by May 31, 2009. This offer is also available from New Delhi, Kochi, Kozhikode, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram.

Members of the airline's Etihad Guest loyalty programme will still earn Etihad Guest miles relevant to the class of travel and also earn an additional 2,500 Guest Miles if they book online. Speaking on the limited period offer, Neerja Bhatia, Country Manager – India and Sri Lanka, Etihad Airways said, “We are immensely proud of the award-winning service we offer our customers in both First and Business Class from India. Our new 'inspired service' has been available on our aircraft between India and Abu Dhabi since November 2008 and has proved to be a tremendous success with our customers. This promotion gives thousands of travellers who so far have not had the pleasure, a chance to experience First and Business Class at extremely appealing prices.”

The airline recently also completed a major service upgrade to its premium cabins across its aircraft fleet. The new 'Inspired Service' style is available across all of the airline's long haul destinations. Etihad Airways offers fully-flat beds in First and Business Class as well as more than 600 hours of on-demand entertainment provided via individual wide-screen video screens, operated by touch-screen technology. It has also introduced a new cabin crew position called the onboard food and beverage manager, responsible for championing the quality, presentation and delivery of food and beverages on board, ensuring it is consistently to the highest standards.
