Best Western Royal Park, Baddi to be operational by February 2009

Best Western Royal Park at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh will be operational by February 2009. Chandigarh-based real estate developer, Allied Properties, recently diversified into hospitality by forming the company, Royal Park, which owns Best Western Royal Park. Royal Park has entered into a management and franchise agreement with Best Western India.

Spread across an area of 2.5 acres, the 51 room Best Western Royal Park offers a 24x7 coffee shop, rooftop restaurant, gymnasium, bar, conference and banqueting facilities. The three-star hotel will target industrial clientele. Ashok Kukreja, Partner, Royal Park and Allied Properties said, “Pharmaceutical companies make up 60 per cent of Baddi (an industrial town). Those projects, which will be operational till March 2010 in this region, will enjoy tax holidays; for instance, 100 per cent exemption from excise duty for ten years, 100 per cent Income Tax exemption for the first five years and from the sixth year 30 per cent Income Tax exemption. Hence, we see potential for hotels in this region and aim to position Best Western Royal Park as the best hotel in the region.”

Elaborating on the agreement with Best Western India, Kukreja informed, “Best Western is the suitable brand for this hotel because we believe that it understands the owners’ expectations and requirements. Also, it enjoys good rapport with the worldwide market.” Sudhir Sinha, President and COO, Best Western India stated, “We see huge potential in this location; it is not always about big hotel projects, but about catering to the clientele and market that requires Best Western’s services and support.”
