Swiss Tours to launch B2C, B2B live websites in India & Dubai

Swiss Tours, the holiday division of Swiss International Air Lines will launch an online portal for B2C and B2B markets in India this month and next month respectively. The portal will also be launched in Dubai around the same time. The initiative makes Swiss Tours the first airline holiday division to move on to the live online space. The booking engine of the portal will enable customers to book packages for Switzerland.

The Swiss Tours’ website will offer dynamic packaging for customers with product offerings like hotels, apartments, Swiss Pass, tickets for mountain excursions and other activities. It will offer close to about 2,000 apartments in Switzerland, as well as more hotel options in France and London. The inventory that will be used on the website will be based on the inventory that Swiss Tours currently uses for its offline market.

For the B2B market, Swiss Tours will offer travel agents with login ids. It will work on the agency commission model, which is yet to be finalised.

“We want the agents to visit and buy the packages on the website. The agency commissions are yet to be worked out,” said Toovey Abraham, General Manager, India and UAE, Swiss Tours.

According to Abraham, the website will offer a range of packages including those for the Swiss countryside. “It will also offer packages for niche areas like Wellness Tourism and other niche segments like Cuisine Tourism. The range of apartments on offer starts from Rs 800 to as high as Rs two lakh per night, per person,” informed Abraham. He further added, “Usually, the holiday division offers packages, which are clubbed with the same airline the division belongs to. However, our website will allow passengers to book packages for passengers who are slated to travel on another airline thus increasing the flow of bookings made on the website.”

The payment solutions for the B2B market will be based on credit (security or bank guarantee) or through the credit card. For the B2C customers, the payment solutions will only offer the credit card option. The company is not keen on including more payment gateways due to security reasons. The website will offer packages in Indian rupees for the B2C and B2B customers in India, whereas international clients can book packages using US dollars.
